Barooga is home to Australia’s largest inland beach. It’s the perfect destination for golfers, swimmers, campers, bushwalkers and anyone who loves being under the sun. Victor Tours and Travel has carefully arranged the best itinerary for outdoor lovers just like you! Keep on reading to know what’s in store for you on this incredible 7-day adventure.

A Wonderful Week Ahead

A week packed with activities is ahead of us! First stop is at the Flying Boat Museum. Our tour guide will join us and share his extensive knowledge with us on what it was like during the war when the base was set up. Next, we head on to Clancys of Conargo Winery just in time for lunch. It will be exciting for wine lovers on the trip because we will have the chance to sample some of the wines they have.

Get to Know the Locals

We get to spend a whole day getting to know the locals and enjoying the food and activities Yarrawonga has to offer. Better put on your boots because our first stop for the day is at The Stockyard where we’ll meet Wayne Hinchcliffe. Wayne is an expert in handling horses and has been a horseman for years. He will share his knowledge with us on this stop and demonstrate how to ride horses without a saddle and bridle. This is also a great chance to ask him any questions if you’re interested in being a horseman too! Up next is the Byramine Homestead which was built in 1842 by the famous explorer Hamilton Hume. Here we’ll learn about the history of the property and why it was constructed in an octagonal shape. We’ll have plenty of time to explore before having our lunch there. The last stop for the day is a trip to the Renaissance Chocolate where we’ll get to see the art of chocolate making and to cap the day off, we’ll get to sample the produce!

What Goes Well with Wine? Cheese of Course!

We’ve visited Clancys of Conargo Winery to sample their wine, the next thing to do is visit Boosey Creek Cheese where we’ll meet the cheese maker who will teach us about the process of making cheese and will provide a tasting. And if we want to take some home with us, a small farm shop is available to make purchases. Finally for dinner, we’ll meet at Lake Mulwala for our Yarrawonga Mulwala dinner cruise. It’s the perfect way to end the day.

There are plenty of places to see, wines, cheese and chocolates to taste and other things to learn about on this fantastic 7-day trip to Barooga. This might just be the holiday that you’re waiting for! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to spend a few days out in the sun.

We have created a 5-day tour packed with activities, so you will not only get to enjoy Opera in the Alps but you will also get to see other tourist spots as well.

A Quick Trip to the Vineyard

Our first stop for this trip is to The Brown Brothers Vineyard. The Brown Brothers have been growing grapes and making wines since 1889 at Milawa. You will have the chance to tour the area and taste some of the wines. You may even learn a thing or two about the wine that they produce. Any wine lover will surely enjoy this stop!

A Day of Leisure and Music

We’re not done yet! Get ready to taste various olive oils, salad dressings, jams and more at the Rich Glen Olive Estate. This family run business claims that all the products they sell are “passionately made on the farm”. You will get to know more about this when we take you back in time through “Pops Storage Shed” where we can see displays of old farm machinery, historic photos and antique furniture from five generations. After this, we head out to Lake Mulwala to board the MV Paradise Queen to enjoy a BBQ lunch on board while taking in the scenery. Just when you think the day’s over, we head to Beechworth to purchase our dinner then head to the Opera in the Alps!

An Unforgettable Night at the Opera

Opera in the Alps happens annually at the picturesque grounds of Baarmutha Park. Thousands of people from all over the country gather to witness this magical event. The drive might be a long one but the experience is surely worth it. You will witness great artists such as Teddy Rhodes and Alexandra Flood sing under the stars. You will not only experience the amazing music but great food and wine will be available at the venue too. You definitely shouldn’t  let this chance pass by!

One Last Stop at the Museum

Before we head back home, we will take a trip to the Golden Dragon Museum where we will learn about the history and culture of the Chinese people who immigrated to the region. We will then have our lunch and make our way to Horsham for our last overnight stop.
