The Jaracanda festival is the oldest floral festival in Australia. It is the celebration of the magnificent lilac-blossomed trees that grow along Grafton’s avenue. It was inaugurated in 1934 and is the first of Australia’s folk festivals. Today, the beauty of these trees are known all over the world. Why don’t you witness it for yourself this year?
Victor Tours and Travel has created another wonderful tour this year to Grafton to appreciate the beauty and majesty the Jaracanda festival has to offer. A Local Tour of Grafton
We’re finally in Grafton! The first activity for the day is to meet up with our guide who will give us a sightseeing tour of the town. Together with our tour guide, we will visit the Squatters Rest Private museum in the small town of Tucabia. Here we will get to enjoy a tour of the old house, take a look at the rural memorabilia and see the vintage tractor engines in the area. From here, we will head to Junction Hill to visit Lanbruk’s Gunyah – a property belonging to Dorothy and Don Enders. We are going to take our time to see the farm animals, visit their gift shop and pick up a bottle of olive oil before finally enjoying a nice afternoon tea. We then go back to our hotel rooms to rest because tomorrow’s finally the day of the festival!
The Grand Float Procession at the Jaracanda Festival
What an exciting day! This is the event we’re all waiting for. After touring Grafton, it’s finally time to enjoy the spectacle of the Jaracanda Festival. We will have a chance to look around and shop at the markets. Maybe even buy a small trinket to remind ourselves of this trip. There are also some local open gardens to admire before watching the Grand Float Procession down Prince Street. This is truly a day for admiring the beauty of nature!
These are just some of the things in store for you! There are certainly more activities to look forward to in this trip. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to witness the beauty the city of Grafton has to offer. Visit www.victor.travel today to know more about this trip!
