Tuscany and Umbria

It’s no secret that Tuscany and Umbria are some of the most beautiful places on Earth. Aside from the scrumptious food and fabulous wine, Tuscany and Umbria’s laid back vibe will surely make you feel at peace. Once you get there, you might want to stay forever.

It’s not every day you get the chance to enjoy a nice glass of red wine while enjoying the view of the Italian countryside. The air is fresh, and the food is just to die for. You’ll feel like there’s nothing that could go wrong in the world. But aside from relaxing under the sun, what else can you do in Tuscany and Umbria? We’ve listed some of the things you could do and things or food you could try while you’re there.

  1. Walk around Montefalco – Montefalco is also known as the “Balcony of Umbria.” Do you know how the town got that name? It’s because you can get an entirely unobstructed view of Umbria here. Just like when you’re on a balcony! The charming medieval town also has a lot of great wines like the Sagrantino so you can drink all the wine to your heart’s content on your stop there!
  2. Take in the breathtaking view at Val d'Orcia – Imagine a beautiful landscape painting with a clear blue sky. Does that make you feel relaxed and calm? How about spending a day or two in a place that’s just like that? Val d’Orcia is located in Tuscany and is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. Its beauty has inspired many artists during the Renaissance. But don’t just take our word for it. Go and experience it for yourself. You can thank us later.
  3. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis – Did you know that St. Francis is the patron saint of animals? Well, if you didn’t, this is your chance to find out more about him. Assisi is the birthplace of St. Francis, but the town is also known for some of the greatest artistic works. Inside the Basilica of St. Francis is one of Pietro Lorenzetti’s works depicting the last moments of Christ’s life.
  4. Surround yourself with art at the Guarnacci Museum – The Guarnacci Museum is located within the walls of Volterra. And if you’re a fan of a famous vampire movie from a few years ago, you’re going to love this place. And when you’re tired of looking at art inside the museums, you could go outside and marvel at the incredible ancient structures within the confines of the town.

Of course, these are just some of the places you can visit in Tuscany and Umbria. If you want to see and experience more, then you need to join Victor Tours Travel & Cruise’s 23-day Tuscan & Umbrian Countryside + Northern Spain and Portugal Tour departing 15 April 2018 and returning 7 May 2018.
